In order to fill the gaps in fixed observation of marine geomagnetism and reinforce scientific and technological support to scientific research, disaster prevention and mitigation, exploitation of marine resources, safeguarding national marine rights and interests, fulfilling China's international responsibilities in the South China Sea,it is necessary to construct island and seabed geomagnetic fixed observation stations in the South China Sea. Based on the preliminary analysis of foreign cases of marine geomagnetic observatories, the status quo of South China Sea island infrastructure and the implementation of submarine observation network, It is considered that the conditions for the construction of marine geomagnetic fixed observatories in the South China Sea are ripe. Construction suggestions for rational spatial layout, step-by-step implementation, local adaptation and intelligent observation are given. |
