For the continuous measurement application demand of underwater glider, to obtain marine hydro-power high-quality cross-sectional data, a new miniaturization, low power consumption, light weight SZQ1-1 CTD sensor has been designed for underwater glider. The CTD has been used electromagnetic induction type principle to measure conductivity, integrated fast-responsed thermistor and pressure sensor and controlled by PIC18F2520 microcontroller in the circuit. The CTD measuring instrument has been calibrated many times in the laboratory, and the data quality meets the requirements of sea test. In October 2016, the CTD sensor was compared with SBE19 Plus of Seabird in Jiaozhou bay, Qingdao. Sea test results show that the the measurement results of CTD sensor is similar to SBE19 Plus, and the accuracy of temperature, salt and depth profile data real-time obtained meets the requirements of the underwater glider. |
