In order to grasp the error distribution of the OSMAR-S HF ground wave radar in the remote sea surface current in northern SCS, the spatial distribution of the radar current data is analyzed firstly, and it is found that there is a blind zone in the middle of the radar connection. The radar current data is compared with the ADCP current data, and the current velocity error in the middle region is smaller than other regions. In order to obtain a more comprehensive analysis, by applying the harmonic analysis method, the tidal current and residual current are calculated, and compared with the tidal current data of the forecast system and the wind data of the weather station, with using the fast Fourier transform for data filtering in the calculation. The results show that in the middle region of the outward sea side covered by the radar, especially in the region close to 90° between the two radar stations, the current accuracy is higher than other regions, and based on the above conclusions, the recommendations for the use of radar are given. |
