Marine observation serves as an important way to obtain information on the marine environment. A reliable real-time operating system (RTOS) plays an important role in the information acquisition and processing part of the marine observation system. The computational accuracy of the RTOS depends not only on the calculation logicality, but also on the time to produce results. The RTOS has a high-precision timing system, a multi-level interrupt nesting mechanism and a real-time scheduling mechanism. These features ensure the task to be completed within stipulated time. In this paper, 3 typical operating systems, including the WindRiver’s VxWorks, BRTT’s Antelope and the open source RTLinux, are discussed and analyzed on their functions, key modules as well as advantages and disadvantages, so as to elaborate the importance of the ROTS in relevant fields. |
